"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as ransom for many."(Mark 10:45)
Jesus was the ultimate servant and we are to follow in his footsteps. I am very thankful and humbled for the opportunity to be a part of His work.
I am currently engaged in four local ministries. First, I am part of a small team that lead Church Services on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings at The Colonnades at Reflection Bay, which is a senior community that provides residential health services. About 60% of the residence have dementia.
Second, I am a volunteer and mentor at The Forge for Family. The Forge is a faith based ministry serving the under resourced Third Ward African American Community in Houston, Texas. I am currently a math tutor as well as a mentor for two elementary age boys.
Third, I am a volunteer with Prison Ministry of Texas. I am one of a number of men who visit Carol S. Vance Unit near Houston. We lead either small group or individual bible studies with the inmates. The ministry serves over 300 offenders.
Furthermore, I work with a homeless ministry call Circle of Love Community Church. All services are held outside at an empty lot on the corner of Chenevert& St. Joseph, downtown Houston . Services are from 1pm- 3pm and food is served from 3pm -4pm. The ministry is led by Pastor Lucio Espinosa.
I believe it is very important for all Christians to get outside the four walls of their church and serve. If Jesus is calling you to be engaged in any of the ministries listed, please send me an email. Would love to speak with you about being involved.
I am a member at Second Baptist, South Campus in Pearland, TX.
